Should Bradley Beal Resign with the Washington Wizards?

So, the reports out there are that Bradley Beal is expected to resign with the Washington Wizards for a max contract 5 years, $250 Million. Obviously, no other team can offer him as much as the Wizards, no more than 4 Years hundred something million. But should Bradley Beal in terms of Basketball reasons want to stay in Washington?

The only Basketball reason I could think of for Beal to want to continue to play in Washington is the fact that he has been the guy there for a while. He has been the number one option in Washington ever since John Wall went down with his injuries. Even then as Wall was the Point Beal at least in the half court set was still often the number one option. Being the man/ #1 option in Washington for Beal. However the Washington Wizards have not made it out of the first round since 2017. That has basically been since Wall went down and Beal became the number one option.

How good can the Wizards be next season if they resign Beal? Kuzma, and Porzingis would be the teams secondary scoring options, and the team also has Kentavious Caldwell-Pope as a 3 and D player. After that the roster starts running pretty thin. In my personal opinion this team is AT BEST a play in game team.

Should the Wizards even want to keep going down this road of mediocrity? Or should they let Bradley Beal go and chase a Championship somewhere, and set the franchise in rebuild mode? I mean if they are bad enough this season they enter into the Victor Wembanyama sweepstakes in the 2023, who is projected to be the top prospect since LeBron James.

As for Bradley Beal why not go to another organization, and chase a championship. Look at Damian Lillard in Portland; he decided to be loyal to a town, and now they are in the middle of a crises rebuild mode without the necessary capital to get much done. There are plenty contending teams who would love to get the services of Bradley Beal. Maybe Beal could make that call to Portland and team up with Damian Lillard?

My personal favorite choice for Bradley Beal is the Miami Heat. Imagine if the number one seed in the Eastern Conference had Beal to give the ball to in their series against Eastern Conference Champion Boston Celtics when their offense became stagnate. As for Beal… he may even be the number one option on that Miami Heat team. Jimmy Butler has carried that mantle for the past few seasons, but not necessarily because he wanted to, but more because he has to. Butler is at his best getting his teammates involved and taking over in stretches when needed. With Beal on the squad Butler would more left in the tank when the Heat need him the most.
