Oklahoma City Thunder Draft Chet Holmgren #2 Overall | 2022 NBA Draft

One of the most unique prospects in the 2022 NBA Draft, the Oklahoma City Thunder land Gonzaga F Chet Holmgren at No. 2. The Thunder also traded for French F Ousmane Dieng at 11, and added Santa Clara’s Jalen Williams at 12.

Chet Holmgren is 7’1″ 195 Pounds with a very unique skillset for his size. It’s funny that he is drafted to the Thunder becuase he looks like a combination of Kevin Durant and Kristaps Porziņģis. Though most mock drafts compare him to Kristaps Porziņģis more than they do Durant, Holmgren has a legit handle, which makes him more versatile than Porzingis. Though his offensive numbers were not staggering like some of the other talent in the draft, he does a have versatile offensive skillset: can operate out of triple threat, passing ability, shooting, and ball handling.

Holmgrens light frame may make it tough for him if asked to guard some of  the larger players in todays game like Joel Embiid, however with zone defense being so privy, as well as the pace of today’s game with more emphases on 3 point shooting; Holmgren should fit in fine in today’s game. Holmgreen giant wingspan also allowed him to average almost 5 blocks a game while at Gonzaga.

Holmgrens dad is also a 7 footer and video records all his sons games.
