REPORT: The New York Knicks are expected to “quickly” put together a trade package for Donovan Mitchell. (per Tony Jones)
Though, the Knicks are NOT willing to include Julius Randle in a trade package for Donovan Mitchell. (per Adrian Wojnarowski)
Knicks can trade up to eight first-round picks — four of their own, and four owed by other teams. They should be able to meet Utah’s price for Donovan Mitchell with their combination of first-round picks and young players.
So Let’s go to the trade machine and take a look at what the Knicks can offer Utah.
This is a simple trade sending Donovan Mitchell to the Utah Jazz for Derek Rose, and Evan Fournier. This allows the Knicks to keep their young talent around Mitchell and Randle, and yes they are getting rid of veteran leadership especially in D. Rose but to make the money work this is the most realistic option, other than the Knicks gutting a lot of young talent like RJ Barrett, Obi Topping, Quentin Grimes, etc. Which I don’t think Knicks fans would be to happy with. So if they Knicks are willing to give up the Picks this is the most likely scenario it would happen with.
And the Jazz would be entering into the 2023 NBA Draft Victor Wembanyama sweepstakes.
