Kevin Durant Request A Trade from the Brooklyn Nets

This just in. Kevin Durant has requested a trade from the Brooklyn Nets, and the Nets have agreed and are prepared to receive one of the largest trade packages in NBA History. This comes just days after Kyrie Irving opted in for the final year of his contract. Just looking at the things from the outside it looks like that relationship must be damaged. Considering the trio of Durant, Irving, and Simmons never even played a game together. Will leave fans asking “what could have been?”

Who will be the top potential suitors for Durant? A trade of this magnitude has the potential of changing the entire landscape of the NBA. Durant has already stated that he wouldn’t mind going back to Golden State, and also wouldn’t minding pairing alongside Dame Lilliard. Honestly this trade does not make sense to me if I’m Durant you have 2 all stars besides you in Irving and Simmons; you aren’t going to find a too much better situation. Especially if a team has to unload just to get you. So, Dejounte Murray just demanded 3 1st’s and a pick swap. How much more is Kevin Durant going to demand.

The only way a team is going to pull this off is if they have young assets, salary cap to match, as well as available draft picks. My top 2 favorites to land Durant is going to be Phoenix, and Golden State. Also watch out for Miami, Portland, Philadelphia, and Miami.

So where does this leave Irving and Simmons. Irving is potentially gone since the reports are saying that now that Durant will be gone everyone is available for trade. Seeing what they gave up for Simmons they will probably keep him around as part of the rebuild, or retool depending on the move that is made.

Only time will tell from here what happens with Kevin Durant and the Brooklyn Nets franchise. Just last year this team was so promising with Harden, Durant, and Irving. Now they are facing another rebuild, but hey at least this time they will have a lot of assets. Y’all remember that trade for Paul Pierce and KG that left the Nets in a rebuild with no draft picks. lol.
