Trade 1:
Obtain Murray from San Antonio for 2-3 picks into the Fournier TPE
Trade 2:
This is where I got creative
Boston:
John Collins
Brogdon
Myles Turner
Huerter
Atlanta:
Al Hortford (homecoming vet presence to stretch floor)
Marcus Smart to cover Trae’s defense liability
Pacers:
White
Theis
Neismith/Pritchard/Grant(whichever they prefer)
Hunter
Atlanta first
2 Celtics 2nd
Atlanta moves on from Collins and gets the pairing they need for Trae, plus get Als expiring contract for the home coming.
Pacers move off 2 contracts they wanted to move acquire draft capital while taking flyers on young pieces and have white to dangle to contenders for more picks
Our rotation at that point would look like
1 Murray
2 JB
3 Tatum
4 Collins
5 Williams
With Brogdan & Turner as the first small and big off the bench
Which ever of Pritchard or Grant is still around plus Huerter for the 9 man
Find 1-2 ring chasing vets to round up the squad with the end of the bench players on the roster
Murray & Collins>Smart & Hortford
Brogdan, Huerter, Turner > White, Pritchard/Grant, Theis
This trade makes us better and deeper while sacrificing minimal defense that can be coached up in our switching scheme. The identity and core remain while bringing in versatile pieces that slot right into Imes philosophy. ~Brian Batista~
RESPONSES:
Great ideas. I think Murray is definitely gettable with as many picks/pick swaps necessary. I get stumped at why would the Hawks give up Collins, Huerter and a first, which should be like pick 13-18, for essentially Smart, because Horford doesn’t actually offer that much value to the Hawks the way they are set up with big men like Capela and Okongwu. ~Scott Simmonette~
We get worse with this team, lose our only vet that’s actually good with experience and lose 2 great defenders for a Collins that is really only good because of Trae. ~Austin Talley~
I love all the work, but my main pause is that Brad and Ime have intimated that they’re essentially running it back. They’ve said the biggest problem was being .500 after half the season and having to play all out to reach the playoffs without a reliable 2-3 to spell the Js. They’re not gutting the roster. ~Erik North~
Keep dreaming, they’re not trading Smart, Tatum, Brown or Timelord. This team was only 2 wins away from a championship. This team only needs to acquire a consistent bench scorer. Tatum and Brown haven’t reached their peak yet and the Celtics players as well as Udoka will grow stronger from their Finals experience. ~Kurt Lawn~
Lol the posts just keep getting sillier. Trade away the reigning DPOY and the old vet who stretches the floor pretty well. Just downright ridiculous, really. ~Jon Javier~
