The Atlanta Hawks have acquired Dejounte Murray in a trade with the San Antonio Spurs for Danillo Galinari and 3 future first round draft picks as well as a pick swap. This pairs Trae Young up with Murray in the backcourt for the Hawks. This could be one of the most explosive backcourts in the whole NBA. Last season Tre averaged 28.4 points per game and Murray averaged 21.1 for the Spurs respectfully.
This sets Atlanta’s potential starting lineup for the 22-22 to be as follows: Trae Young, Dejounte Murray, De’Andre Hunter, John Collins, and Clint Capela. Just 2 years ago the Hawks were in the Easter Conference finals, and took the world champion Milwaukee Bucks 6 games. Some say the Hawks would have won the series had Trae Young not twisted his ankle. Looking forward to this coming season with Murray and Young in the backcourt together the Hawks will be poised to get back in contention.
As for the San Antonio Spurs the full tank mode is on, praying that they get the number 1 overall pick so they can get the prized possession of the 23 draft, the 7’3” Victor Wembanyama.
